This summer Marijn will be perform at the children's parade with the show 'The Boy Who doesn't dare to say YES'.
Together with actress Janna Adank, Marijn will try to see what happens when you are so afraid of the world that you don't dare to do anything anymore. A colorful show about daring to be yourself.

What if you are on vacation and don't dare to say YES anymore? Little Boy knows all about this. For days he has been hiding in a corner of the swimming pool between the inflatable toys. Until Girl, who dares to do everything, discovers him. Can she save Little Boy?
Today Marijn Claes started rehearsing at 'De Studio' of OT Rotterdam. During three weeks he will work with other theaterprofessionals on scenes and acts based on the theme of work. Under the guidance of Mirjam Koen and Gerrit Timmers, this will result in a performance.
'The studios of OT rotterdam have a long tradition that started with the Independent Theater. The purpose of a Studio is to make a presentation with a laboratory-like character. The participants work for three weeks on assignments, short scenes and acts, resulting in a performance. The final artistic responsibility lies with Mirjam Koen. Mirjam Koen received the ACT Award in 2017 for her contribution to talent development and diversity in the theater. The Studios were explicitly mentioned as very valuable for the development of starting and experienced players and makers.'
In this new short film by Leendert Roosenbrand, Marijn Claes will portray the part of Piccolo. Other roles are performed by Monic Hendrikx, René van 't Hof and Lowie van Oers. In this film, the story is told of four characters who's lives get intertwined during a fatal night in a hotel.
The film is now in post-production and will soon be shown in Amsterdam and at festivals
Today the first edition of 'WEEK' was posted on Instagram. 'WEEK' is a new project by Marijn Claes where he writes a short text about a news article from the previous week. This could be a dialogue, a poem, a little thought or anything in between. The goal is to give an image and think about what happens behind the scenes of a news article with as much fantasy as possible.
For the first edition, Marijn has chosen the elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Today Marijn received his MA Acting Diploma at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
During his studies, Marijn worked with famous industry professionals like: Mike Alfreds, Ben Naylor, Morwenna Rowe, Sarah Davey-Hull, Chris Bush, and others.
As part of his studies, Marijn researched the meanings and stigma's of 'Emotional Connection' and 'Stilness' within the actors' craft. whilst working on techniques and excercises to develop them within actor training. For his work he researched techniques by Mike Alfreds, Rudolf Laban, Amanda Brennan as well as Oriental holistic Methods like Qi Gong and Mindfulness.
Yesterday, on the 15th of november, Marijn appeared again as Evangeline Eyecatcher in the show 'Eyecatcher' during Roomservice Wageningen.
Eyecatcher is an intimate encounter with Dragqueen Evangeline Eyecatcher. You're invited, as her BFF, to go back-stage and cheer her on for the single most important show in her life. Today she will be declaring her everlasting love, live on-stage, to one of her (straight) friends.

Today the trailer for 'Scenes from the End of the World' has been released! As a little teaser for the performances, you can hear Marijn sing the song 'Fuck the Seas' (the song starts halfway through the trailer).
Marijn Claes will be playing Morgan in this new production written by Chris Bush and directed by Sarah Davey-Hull at The Yard Theatre.
The show runs from the 24th untill the 27th of July.
Especially written for the MA Acting (Contemporary) Ensemble at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, 'Scenes from the End of the World' wil have it's world-premiere at The Yard theatre on the 24th of July.
The play has been written by Chris Bush (The Assassination Of Katie Hopkins at Theatre Clwyd, Periclesadaptation at the National Theatre) and wil be directed by Sarah Davey-Hull (Director of the bold & saucy theatre company.

In this play Marijn will be performing the part of Morgan.
From the 18th of April until the 21st Marijn wil be appearing as Kulyigin in the production 'The Three Sisters' Directed by Mike Alfreds.
During his long career Mike has worked at, amongst others, The National Theatre, The Globe and Shared Experience. Next to this he has developped his own acting technique based on the works of Constantin Stanislavski and Rudolf Laban.
For this production he will work with the MA Acting (Contemporary) ensemble at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
At the beginning of this week it was announced that Marijn Claes will be starring as Gadgetpiet in the third season of 'On the Road to Boxing Day'. T
The first series of On the Road to Boxing Day was awarded with the 4-6 years (Audience Award) of Cinekid. Peter Faber will once again play the part of St. Nicholas, and besides Marijn Claes (Gadgetpiet), Andre Dongelmans (Planpiet), Rogier Schippers (Dirk Diamant) and Steef Hupkes (Ricardo Santo) will also star in the show.
The third season will be directed by Anna van Keimpinga.
The series will be shown every schoolday on Nickelodeon on Monday 13 November at 5:30 PM.
Today it was announced that the movie 'The Pain Body' has been selected for the Debut Competition of The Netherlands Film Festival.
The Pain Body is a short movie from director Gerson Oratmangoen and is inspired by the 'Kopschop'-incident from 2013 in Eindhoven. In this film, both the victim, the perpetrator and a helper are followed in a short poetic story. This movie cuts a big theme, namely the consequences of negative energy.
On the 6th of July, 2017, Marijn Claes will be awarded a Scholarship from the Prince Bernhard Cultural Fund. This to fund his further research as an actor through a Master's degree at the renowned 'The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama'. There, Marijn will study various acting techniques (such as Stanislavski, Viewpoints, Lecoq, Meisner, etc.) and the relationship between the playwright and the actor in developing new work.

But I hope, that during this performance, the audience starts seeing the similarities between themselves and Evangeline and realizes that there isn't a lot of difference between them and the outcast: Everybody is ultimately just human being in search for the same things."
